You're reading: European Parliament to discuss implementation of Minsk deals

BRUSSELS - The European Parliament Subcommittee on Security and Defense together with an EP delegation over Ukraine to discuss the situation in the country, namely the implementation of the Minsk deals.

The discussion will be held on June 16, with the participation of Ukrainian Ambassador to the EU Kostiantyn Yeliseyev and EEAS Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia Luis Fernandez de la Pena, the EP website reported.

The hearings will be held on Ukraine’s request, the EU Delegation to Ukraine said.

The Ukrainian ambassador plans to present the facts of breach of the Minsk deals by pro-Russian militants, as well as the argumentation in favor of deployment of the EU peace mission in Donbas and toughening of sanctions against Russia due to worsening of the situation in the eastern part of Ukraine.
