Berlin - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has said that the so-called elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics go against the Minsk agreements and called on Russia to comply with its obligations to respect Ukraine's integrity.

“FM Steinmeier on Ukraine: separatists’ so-called “elections” go against the agreements of the Minsk protocol,” reads the minister’s statement on the Foreign Ministry’s Twitter account.

“FM Steinmeier: We will measure actions of Russia and Pres. Putin against their statements not to question the unity of Ukraine,” the minister said.
