ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia - Pavel Gubarev, former "people's governor" of Donbas, who survived an assassination attempt in mid October, has been discharged from a hospital in Rostov-on-Don and is now in Donetsk, Gubarev's assistant Anna Belyayeva said.
“Pavel Gubarev looks good and says he is ready to fully go back to work,” Belyayeva told Interfax on Nov. 10.
According to earlier reports, a car carrying Gubarev came under fire in Donbas in the Snizhne area and crashed into a pillar on Oct. 13. Gubarev, who was unconscious after the attack, was hospitalized in Rostov-on-Don. He regained consciousness and was transferred from intensive care to a regular ward the next day. The Donetsk People’s Republic special service later detained several suspects in the attack.
