You're reading: Gunmen seize election commission’s building in Donetsk, steal voter lists in Luhansk

The building of the election commission No. 42 (Voroshylovsky and Kalininsky districts of Donetsk) has been seized, the press service of Donetsk regional state administration has reported.

“Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic seized the buildings, documents, and removed the office machines and equipment from the district election commission No. 42,” the report said on May 15.

Besides, the press service said that on May 14, representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic once again kidnapped head of the district election commission in Kramatorsk, taking an official seal and office equipment. The man has since been freed.

Moreover, voter lists have been stolen at Zhovtnevy district executive committee in Luhansk, the “Vostochny Variant” (Eastern Variant) Web site reported, referring to Luhansk regional police.

It also said that armed men entered the building of one of the district committees and demanded to give them money allegedly received from the CEC, along with computers and ballot papers.
