The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has reminded that individuals have the right to bring cash not exceeding equivalent of 10,000 euros in the territory of the Crimea free economic zone or to other territory of Ukraine from Crimea without a written declaration to customs agencies.
The press service of the State Fiscal Service said in its explanations that under the law on the creation of the free economic zone “Crimea” and specifics of economic operation on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and resolution of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) No. 699 of Nov. 3, 2014 on applying certain requirements of currency laws during the regime of temporary occupation on the territory of the free economic zone “Crimea” new rules of moving cash foreign currency via the administrative border of the free economic zone “Crimea” have been introduced.
“It is banned the movement of cash Russian rubles via the administrative border of the free economic zone “Crimea”, apart from their movement by individuals in the sum not exceeding equivalent Hr 10,000 if individuals orally declare the sum to the customs agencies,” the State Fiscal Service said.
Currency of other categories is moved under general rules set by the NBU.
“Thus, individuals can bring cash in the sum not exceeding equivalent of 10,000 euros to the territory of the free economic zone “Crimea” or from the Crimea economic zone to other territories of Ukraine,” the service said.
However, individuals living on the rest of the territory of Ukraine can move cash in the sum not exceeding equivalent 10,000 euro if the sum is declared in the written form to the customs at agencies in full and if the documents confirming removal of cash only in the sum not exceeding equivalent 10,000 euros from accounts at banks are presented.
Individuals who live on the territory of the free economic zone “Crimea” can move cash in the sum exceeding equivalent 10,000 euros to the rest of the territory of Ukraine only if the sum is declared in the written form in full.
