Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said that an international donor conference on rebuilding infrastructure in eastern Ukraine could be held in January 2015.
“We are now discussing the date with the European Commission. Perhaps, this event will be held in January so as to better prepare for it,” he said in an interview with Channel 5 late on Friday, Nov. 7.
He said that the idea was to ensure that this conference could be attended not only by the European Union, but also by the whole world.
“We’re working to make it a truly global conference,” Klimkin said.
He also noted that Ukraine would get assistance as part of programs to rebuild infrastructure, develop small and medium-sized businesses, as well as to create jobs for the people affected by the conflict.
Earlier it was planned to hold a donor conference in December this year.
