You're reading: Kyiv doesn’t find situation in Mariupol area threatening

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) spokesman Andriy Lysenko said on Wednesday, Nov. 26 there are no new threats on the southern track in the Mariupol area.

“As to the southern track, that is, Mariupol, there is a decline in activity there. For this reason, we can’t say that they [militants] are preparing for some offensive or provocations,” Lysenko told a briefing in Kyiv.

Lysenko said Ukrainian military, including patrol services, are actively working in Mariupol.

“For this reason, we don’t see any new threats except for the threat that already exists,” Lysenko said.
