The Ukrainian military last night forced the militants to leave the Luhansk aerodrome, partially blocking Lysychansk, and cut them from supply routes, the press center for the anti-terrorist operation reported on Monday morning, July 21.

According to the report, which was posted on Facebook, members of
illegal armed groups made several attempts to leave in the early hours
of Monday.

“As a result, the enemy’s equipment and troops were destroyed in the
fight. 30 people were taken prisoner. Law enforcement officers have
assumed control over the perimeter of the populated area of Rubizhne.
The National Guard and the Ukrainian army are cleansing the territory,”
the report says.

The press center also reported that the Ukrainian military control
the situation and are increasing their advantages on three routes.

“A considerable territory between Artemivsk, Horlivka, and
Kostiantynivka has been occupied, more space around the Donetsk airfield
is being taken under our control, the circle is becoming tighter,” the
report says.

At the same time, the militants continue opening fire on the
Ukrainian military. Specifically, the Luhansk aerodrome came under fire
from a Grad system from the populated area of Hostra Mohyla at around 9 p.m. There were no casualties, the press service reported.

In addition, checkpoints came under fire near the populated areas of Kodym and Predtechyne the report says.

“The situation on this track is characterized by terrorist
activities. Separatists are trying to keep Horlivka, Avdiyivka, and
Donetsk under their control,” the press center has reported.

A mortar attack on a checkpoint on the outskirts of Artemivsk did not cause any casualties, the press center has reported.

The militants are trying to keep parts of the districts of Uspenka,
Marynivka, and Diakove under their control. “The operative situation in
eastern Ukraine remains difficult and has a tendency to aggravate. The
situation is the most difficult in the populated areas of Donetsk,
Luhansk, Krasnodon, Popasna, and the area close to the border. Militants
have focused on keeping the suburbs under their control,” the press
center for the military operation has reported.
