MOSCOW - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev asked the Ukrainian government and the Russian Finance Ministry to bear in mind that Russia has grounds for demanding that Kyiv settle $3 billion in debt ahead of schedule.

“Whatever Ukrainian leadership is saying, we have grounds for demanding that [Ukraine] repay the debt early, that is, carry out its contractual obligations,” Medvedev said at the Gaidar Forum on Jan. 14.
