BERLIN - German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that the opening of a humanitarian corridor for the delivery of assistance to residents of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine is a top priority, the EFE news agency reported on Nov. 5.

“This is a top priority humanitarian task,” she said at a press conference in Berlin after meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

Merkel said that Berlin would cooperate with Kyiv to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the east of Ukraine.
