The Ukrainian military has announced that Ukrainian forces dealt 42 artillery strikes on militants and on enemy weapon systems in retaliation for the militants' 33 shelling attacks on the Ukrainian positions in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, Dec. 7.
The intensity of the militants’ operations subsided all along the frontline, compared to Saturday’s fighting, the press center of the military operation said on Facebook.
The militants’ artillery and mortar fire was particularly intense on the Debaltseve bridgehead, where they shelled Mius, Chornukhyne, Debaltseve, Orlovo-Ivanivka, Poltavska coalmine, Nikishyne, Olkhovatka and Faschivka, the Ukrainian military said.
Ukrainian troops continue building fortifications, improving the infrastructure of field camps and doing the “combat work,” the press center said.
