Warsaw - EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has said that the situation in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine is extremely negative, the Associated Press reported on Nov. 6.
She said during her visit to Warsaw that ” t he situation on the ground [in eastern Ukraine] is extremely negative, with people dying yesterday.”
In addition, she said that the so-called “elections” held in eastern Ukraine on Nov. 2, which Moscow has praised, “were a very negative sign.”
Speaking about differences between the EU and Russia on the Ukrainian problem, Mogherini said that “the issue of sanctions is always on the table.”
Earlier it was reported that the subject of sanctions against Russia would be considered at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Nov. 17.
