The local newspaper "Nedelya" (Sunday) reported on Friday that unknown armed persons had taken over the building of the Ukrainian Security Service's (SBU) branch in the town of Alchevsk, Luhansk region.
“At around 0500 a.m. today, unknown armed people fired several shots
near the Alchevsk department of SBU and entered the building unhindered.
There was only one duty officer in the building at the moment. He was
not injured. The attackers took several computers out of the department.
These armed persons are currently holding the building,” the newspaper
said.
Interfax has so far been unable to obtain confirmation of the report from other sources.
Alchevsk in a large industrial city, located in Ukraine’s eastern Luhansk region.
