DONETSK, Ukraine - Voters in two pro-Russian separatist enclaves in eastern Ukraine went to the polls on Nov. 2 to elect members of Parliament and heads of state, defying the central government in Kyiv in elections that threatened to deepen and prolong the conflict in the east.
