The intensity of shelling has declined in the anti-terrorist operation area in eastern Ukraine, but clashes continue near the Donetsk airport and the town of Schastia, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said.

‘We are observing a slight reduction in the intensity of shelling,’ NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko told the Channel 5 television station on Monday 22 Sept. evening.

‘The Donetsk airport and the town of Schastia remain the main hot spots,’ he said.

‘There have been fewer attacks against Ukrainian soldiers in other regions and in other directions. And, as far as I know, no one has been killed recently,’ Lysenko said.
