Ukraine regards the participation of Serbian officials in observing pseudo-elections in Donbas as an "unfriendly step," Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis has said.
He said at a press conference in Kyiv on Nov. 4 that among “those observing illegal elections in Donbas the sole representative of a pro-government party was Serbian member of parliament Vladimir Djukanovic from the Serbian Progressive Party, which is headed by the prime minister of the country, and the founder of this party is the president.”
“A tolerant attitude to such actions by Serbia’s highest political leadership is an openly unfriendly step towards Ukraine, which contradicts the official position declared by Belgrade regarding support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country and is unacceptable to the state that will preside over the OSCE next year,” he said.
