The parliamentary faction of the Party of Regions has called on Ukraine's acting president and Verkhovna Rada speaker, Oleksandr Turchynov, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) head Valentyn Nalyvaichenko to step down.

“The faction of the Party of Regions believes that acting
Commander-in-Chief Mr. Turchynov, Interior Minister Avakov and SBU head
Nalyvaichenko are personally and fully responsible for the punitive
operation in eastern Ukraine and the deaths of people who were burned
alive in Odesa. We demand the immediate resignation of these three
officials,” Party of Regions MP Mykola Levchenko told reporters on the
sidelines of today’s parliamentary session on May 6.

“Our colleagues, MPs from the three factions that hold a
[parliamentary] majority, today have a chance to immediately elect a new
speaker, who will automatically assume the duties of acting president
and supreme commander-in-chief, as well as elect a new SBU head and a
new interior minister,” he said.
