President Vladimir Putin has held an operative meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“[The parties] discussed current socioeconomic affairs and global issues and looked into the Ukrainian peace process, in particular, in the context of the round of the Minsk negotiations held yesterday,” Peskov said.
He added that Putin had wished participants a happy approaching New Year.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Kremlin administration head Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service head Mikhail Fradkov and Security Council permanent member Boris Gryzlov attended the meeting.
