Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Finnish President Sauli Niinisto discussed the outcomes of an extraordinary UN Security Council session addressing the situation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian presidential press service reported.
“Poroshenko aired his serious concern about a massive influx of troops and heavy weapons from across the Russian border. He called on Finland and the European Union to demonstrate unity in supporting Ukraine facing aggression from the outside,” it said.
Niinisto declared his country’s support for the Minsk agreements aimed at a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas as a way that all parties, including Russia, must abide by, it said.
Poroshenko thanked Niinisto for Finland’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
