Ukraine needs the opportunities to increase its defense, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Ukraine doesn’t need lethal weapons now, but the opportunities for an efficient defense of its territory, territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence,” he said after the meeting of the NSDC with the participation of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Kyiv on Sept. 22.

Poroshenko noted that Ukraine highly valued NATO’s help and pointed out that cooperation with NATO had already yielded some results.
