Moscow - Russia will not be formally receiving the missions the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) wants to send to this country, says Alexei Pushkov, the Chairman of the Duma International Affairs Committee.
“When they say that PACE would like to send two missions to our country, this wish will remain unreturned. No one is going to receive these missions here, in Russia,” Pushkov told the Federation Council International Affairs Committee on Feb. 2.
Media outlets reported earlier that PACE was planning to send two missions to Russia to study the situation around Ukrainian refugees and prepare a report on human rights in Crimea.
After PACE suspended Russia’s rights in the Assembly at its January session, the Russian delegation announced its decision to discontinue any contact with PACE until the end of 2015, Pushkov said.
“We are discontinuing all PACE missions to Russia and call off all the proposals that were made to us during this session,” Pushkov said.
