Ukrainian railway employees have restored 84 damaged rail tracks, 12 stations at track crossovers and 9 bridges in eastern Ukraine, Head of the Department for Analytics and Rating of Operational Work of the Main Transportation Division of the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) Mykola Topchiyev said at a Sept. 24 briefing in Kyiv.

Power supply devices, and the contact network at a considerable number of facilities and social objects, particularly railway hospitals at Krasny Lyman and Sloviansk stations, boarding school No. 1 in Sloviansk, have been restored, along with the railway stations in the towns of Krasny Lyman, Popasna and Sloviansk, as well as a boiler facility in Popasna.

According to the expert, a number of objects of railway infrastructure still need examination, expert assessment and restoration. According to preliminary assessments, the overall sum needed for the restoration of infrastructure of Donetsk railways equals Hr 878 million.
