Russia may limit food transit from Belarus and Ukraine to Kazakhstan because of attempts by the countries to supply banned food to Russia, the head of Russia's veterinary and phytosanitary service was quoted as saying on Oct. 30.

In early August, Russia banned imports of fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, milk and dairy from the European Union and some other countries worth about $9 billion in retaliation for Western sanctions over the crisis in Ukraine.
