Moscow - Moscow urges Kyiv to revise its decision to stop allowing Russians holding national IDs, known also as internal passports, to enter the country starting March 1 and to preserve the current rules of crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border by citizens of the two states, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary on Feb. 3.

“Kyiv’s decision cannot cause anything but regret, because this step by the Ukrainian side would significantly complicate contacts between millions of citizens of the two countries as well as family and trans-border ties,” the Foreign Ministry said.

“We, on the contrary, believe that, taking into account humanitarian considerations, it would be important to preserve the current border crossing regulations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
