MOSCOW - The Russian government will provide funding to help the people of Ukraine under the UN World Food Programme, Russian Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov said at the all-Russian festival Bravery Constellation award ceremony on Dec. 4.
“The government has made a decision to provide funding to help people living on the territory of all regions of Ukraine under the UN World Food Programme and we plan to continue this work,” the minister said.
Puchkov recalled that temporary accommodation points for people who have left Ukraine are now deployed in 76 regions of Russia.
“This year we and the regions have conducted a historical, unique rescue operation to help Ukrainian people who have decided to temporarily leave the country. Temporary accommodation facilities have now been deployed in 76 regions of Russia,” Puchkov said.
Puchkov said the Emergency Situations Ministry continues helping people in Donbas by forming humanitarian convoys.
“We are forming humanitarian convoys to support people who are in trouble in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions,” the minister said.
