MOSCOW - Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced an additional check on the veterinary and phytosanitary certificates that accompany supervised goods transited from Ukraine, a source from the watchdog told Interfax.

This measure is connected with Ukraine’s ban on transiting incubated eggs from Turkey to Russia.

“Currently at all sites on the Russian border where our veterinary and phytosanitary inspectors are, an additional check is taking place on the accompanying documents for Ukrainian transit cargo that is under supervision,” the source said.

This measure might be in response to Ukraine’s ban on incubated eggs being shipped to Russia.
