MOSCOW - The leadership of the self-proclaimed Luhansk people's republic (LPR) is hopeful that Heidi Tagliavini's resignation as an Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) representative for Ukraine will not cause the termination of the Trilateral Contact Group's work in Minsk.

“Despite Heidi Tagliavini’s resignation from her office, the Contact Group
will certainly continue its work. However, the way this work is to be organized
will depend in large part on a coordinator to come in Tagliavini’s stead,” LPR
envoy for the Minsk talks Vladyslav Deineho told Interfax on June 6.

It was reported from Switzerland earlier on June 6 that Tagliavini was
stepping down as the OSCE chairperson-in-office’s envoy for Ukraine. The reasons
behind the decision were not named.
