Heavy gunfire and explosions are audible in many parts of Donetsk, the city council said on its website on Nov. 18.

“This day, November 18, has not passed quietly in Donetsk,” the statement said.

At the same time, life-sustaining services are running as usual, it said.

A transformer substation in the city’s Kyivskyi district lost power as a result of the hostilities, the city council said. Continuous shelling has also prevented maintenance teams from starting to repair the damaged power lines.

On the evening of Nov. 18, 17 transformer substations in Donetsk remain without power supply.
