The press center for the government military operation in eastern Ukraine said on June 9 that militants had opened fire on Ukrainian positions about 30 times during the day, and "fired at civilian populated areas as well".
“Most of the recorded attacks took place in Donetsk area,” the center said on Facebook.
It said militants fired 120-millimeter mortars on Pisky and Butovka Mine and 122-millimeter artillery attacked Opytne, Pervomaiske and Myronivske.
Tank and infantry combat vehicle guns, grenade launchers and small arms were also used.
Popasna and Zolote came under mortar attacks, while a tank cannon fired at Ukrainian positions outside Hladosove, which is not far away.
The town of Schastia came under two grenade launcher attacks, the center said.
