You're reading: Ukraine receives humanitarian assistance worth $34 million from international organizations

 International organizations and other countries have provided Ukraine with humanitarian assistance worth a total of over $34 million, acting health minister Vasyl Lazoroshynets said.

Among the countries that have provided humanitarian assistance, directly or through the World Health Organization (WHO), are Canada, Georgia, the U.S., Slovenia and Israel, he told a briefing on Nov. 10.

“In late October, the WHO provided Ukraine with the first tranche of humanitarian assistance worth Hr 2.4 million, which will make it possible to meet the needs 170,000 patients for three months. This assistance includes medication, medical equipment and medical-purpose products, anti-allergy and anti-epilepsy drugs, anti-bacteria, cardiovascular, and hematological drugs, and also surgery sets,” he said.

In addition, the WHO has provided Ukraine with 300,000 doses of immunobiological drugs for the prevention of infectious diseases, which have been supplied to seven regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. Some of these drugs have been provided to the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian Security Service, and the State Border Guard Service.
