The sixth wave of mobilization has been 50 percent completed, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Petro Mekhed said.
“To date, we have reached the 50 percent indicator in terms of personnel and manning,” he told reporters on Aug. 11.
Demobilization will be held in due course, the deputy minister said. “In accordance with the president’s decree we will fulfill his directive, and those who fall under demobilization will be demobilized before the end of September,” Mekhed said.
He also did not rule out that “depending on the situation, there could be seventh, eighth and ninth waves of mobilization,” but the General Staff is working hard to increase the number of military service members willing to serve under a contract “for a year or a year and a half.”
