Moscow - The Ukrainian army and the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) have agreed to ceasefire along the line of contact and to withdraw heavy armaments in December.
Everyone has agreed to a complete ceasefire along the entire line of contact between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and LPR forces; the agreement will take effect on Dec. 5, the OSCE said in a report posted on its website.
It also said that the pullout of heavy armaments was due to begin on Dec. 6.
The Ukraine-Russia-EU Contact Group signed a protocol in Minsk on Sept. 5. An immediate ceasefire in eastern Ukraine was its main provision. The ceasefire regime was put into place at 6 p.m. Kyiv time on the same day.
The document aimed at implementing the peace plan of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the initiatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
