Ukrainian First Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Halybarenko met with Serbian Ambassador to Ukraine Rade Bulatovic to discuss Serbian policymakers' participation in the monitoring of the Nov. 2 elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.
“Serbia was informed of Ukraine’s position regarding the participation of observers from Serbian political parties, including parliamentary ones, in the ‘pseudo-elections’ in the east of Ukraine on Nov. 2, 2014,” it said.
The two diplomats also discussed certain aspects of Russian-Serbian cooperation, it said.
It was reported earlier that Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis had said Ukraine viewed the participation of Serbian officials in the monitoring of the elections in Donbas as “an unfriendly step.”
