Ukrainian government forces have conducted an operation to deliver ammunition and food products to its troops in the area of Ridkodub near Debaltseve, the Donetsk region, and evacuate those injured from there, presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko said with reference to Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.
“Ukrainian servicemen have conducted a successful operation near Ridkodub. As a result, weapons, ammunition and food products have been supplied to our checkpoint and all injured have been evacuated. The defense minister reported this to the president. He said the operation to destroy the enemy around Ridkodub was continuing,” Tseholko said in a statement on Facebook on Feb. 6.
A number of Ukrainian media outlets had reported earlier that a government forces unit had been encircled near Ridkodub and asked for reinforcements. At the same time, the antiterrorist operation (ATO) press center reported that, while the situation near Ridkodub was difficult, “all attacks have been successfully repelled, and Ukrainian artillery has inflicted significant losses against the opponent.”
