Ukrainian pharmaceutical distributors have reduced the supply of medicines to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea by quarter, the head of the logistics department of Pharmplanet pharmaceutical distributor, Yevhen Nikushin, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, currently the peninsula sells drugs registered in Ukraine and Russia, and deliveries are made by Ukrainian and Russian distributors.

“The volume of Ukrainian deliveries declined by more than quarter, as a result the losses of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market come to about 3.5-4 percent of the retail turnover,” the expert said.

In addition, he noted that “a large amount of goods from Ukraine previously was carried through Chonhar, but there are no supplies so far.”

At the same time, according to Nikushin, Pharmplanet does not supply drugs to Crimea.

“With regard to distribution to Crimea, we do not supply goods. The main reason is the complicated paperwork, ambiguous interpretation in terms of legislation,” he said.

Pharmplanet pharmaceutical distributor is a national service company, providing a full range of services in the pharmaceutical market, including registration, logistics, marketing and distribution of medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, and dietary supplements.
