The Ukrainian Armed Forces have removed tanks from the contact line in the Artemivsk area and will soon start to remove artillery systems and mortar launchers there, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on its website.

“A removal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ tanks took place in the Artemivsk area. This is the first stage in the tank removal by the ATO [anti-terrorist operation] forces under the Minsk agreements. Artillery systems and mortar launchers are due to be removed in the very near future,” said the ministry, citing data obtained from the military operation zone in Donbas.

The redeployment was monitored by the special mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). “Military vehicles have marched to the specific areas. After that the OSCE mission staff conducted a verification of the vehicles, in particular, they checked the vehicles’ license numbers against those listed earlier,” the spokesperson said.
