WASHINGTON, May 4 (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will make a statement at 1:30 a.m. (0530 GMT) on Tuesday about the investigation into the failed car bombing attempt in New York's Times Square after an arrest was made in connection with the vehicle used for the plot.

U.S. authorities arrested a man of Pakistani descent who purchased the vehicle that was used in the failed car bombing attempt as he tried to flee the country, U.S. officials said earlier on Tuesday.
