BAKU – Armenia will not venture recognize Nagorno-Karabakh's independence, says Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov.

“Azerbaijan sees steps that Armenia is taking toward recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence as provocative. I believe Armenia won’t have the courage to take this step,” Ahmadov told journalists.

Such steps would mean the end of the negotiating process, Ahmadov said. “Naturally, this would entitle Azerbaijan to resort to any means it sees fit to liberate its territories from the occupation,” he said.

The Armenian parliament perfectly understands this, he said.

On the other hand, Armenia will not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence due to the pressure that the international community is putting on Yerevan, he said.
