Minsk, July 26 (Interfax) - Bosch is interested in developing production of fuel equipment in Belarus for its own technologies and is considering OJSC Minsk Motor Plant (MMP) as a possible facility, the Belarusian enterprise reported.
Possibilities for developing this production were discussed during a visit by Bosch Vice President Peter Tyroller’s to the Belarus enterprise. Besides technical issues, organizational issues were discussed. For instance, the possibility to open a production section using MMP’s capacity, as well as the set-up of a joint venture.
Also, during Tyroller’s negotiations with the company’s management, the possibility to increase motor production for off-road vehicles was discussed. Bosch component and nodes are used in the production of these motors.
MMP and Bosch have been partners in producing diesel engines since 2005. Bosch delivers Common Rail flue inlet systems to MMP, used for the production of environmentally efficient engines. With Bosch’s being involved, MMP develops industrial production of engines in line with euro-4 environmental standard, which will be used by the CIS countries starting from 2012.
MMP was founded in 1963. In 2008, Minsk Motor Plant and its subsidiary Trading House Motor Plant were transformed into a shareholder company in 2008, which is completely owned by the Belarusian state.
MMP is currently Belarus’ leading producer of diesel engines for cars, tractors and other agricultural vehicles. The company also produces a wide range of components for its motors.
