ATHENS, May 4 (Reuters) - Greek police fired teargas at a small group of protesters who threw rocks and bottles at them outside parliament in central Athens, police said on Tuesday.
"About 30 protesters threw stones and water bottles at riot police guarding the parliament. Police responded with teargas," a police official said. Thousands of public sector workers marched on Tuesday to protest against government austerity measures that include deep cuts in wages and pensions. The new measures were unveiled on Sunday as part of a 110 billion euro ($146.5 billion) rescue deal with the European Union and International Monetary Fund.
