Kyiv, January 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine's initiative to hold an energy summit in Kyiv rather than Moscow can provoke a serious worsening of the country's relations with Russia, Regions Party Deputy Leader Anna Herman has said.

“The ill-considered, unexpected initiatives of Kyiv, without early consultations on holding a gas summit, either in Kyiv, or in Warsaw, could lead to much worse relations with Russia,” she said.

Herman said that instead of restarting of gas pumping to Europe, the initiatives would provoke even more conflict and worsen the situation. She said such initiatives should be discussed publicly, with all participants in the process.
