VIENNA, May 31 (Reuters) - Iran has been preparing extra equipment for higher-level uranium enrichment but has allowed U.N. inspectors better oversight at the site, according to a confidential U.N. nuclear watchdog report obtained by Reuters.

Iran has told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) the extra machines will support its work to refine uranium to 20 percent purity. They are not yet operational.

The report also said the IAEA remains concerned about possible current activity in Iran to develop a nuclear payload for a missile.
The IAEA’s findings are likely to increase Western concerns that Iran is secretly aiming to develop nuclear weapons capability from its atomic work. Tehran says its programme is for peaceful uses only.
