PORT-AU-PRINCE, May 17 (Reuters) - The head of a U.S. missionary group jailed on charges of kidnapping children in the chaos that followed Haiti's devastating Jan. 12 earthquake, has been freed from jail, a Haitian prosecutor said on Monday.

Laura Silsby, who was arrested on Jan. 29, was ordered freed by a Haitian judge after the kidnapping charges had been reduced to a lesser charge of illegal travel, the prosecutor, Joseph Manes Louis, told Reuters.
