Warsaw, November 28 (Interfax Central Europe) - Some NATO states, by being reluctant towards the prospect of entry of Ukraine and Georgia into the organization, act against Europe's interest because of their relations with Russia, said Polish President Lech Kaczynski.
“For sure there’s unwillingness on some large allies of the United States and it is related to their attitude towards Russia,” Kaczynski told reporters in Opole, southern Poland. “I don’t share their view of relations towards Russia. I think those are steps against the interests of those countries and all of Europe.”
Kaczynski has fiercely advocated for Ukraine and Georgia’s entry into NATO’s Membership Action Plan (MAP), but failed to get the block’s consent for the project during NATO’s recent April summit.
