The Karabakh peace process will be high on the agenda during the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the United States, deputy head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration and head of the Administration's foreign relations department, Novruz Mammadov, has said.

“The president of Azerbaijan has been invited to visit the United States. I think that this issue [Karabakh] will be one of the most important in the upcoming negotiations,” Mammadov told the press.

“We wish for the soonest resolution of this conflict. To be frank, Armenia needs this even more than we do. Yet, regretfully, I do not see any farsightedness in the conduct of the Armenian administration. They are incapable of making a fair and correct analysis of the processes taking place in the region and the world at large and drawing conclusions,” Mammadov said.

The Yerevan administration has been obstructing “the fair resolution” of the Karabakh conflict, he said.

Armenian leaders need to understand that “the occupied Azerbaijani lands” will be freed anyway sooner or later, the deputy head of the Presidential Administration said.
