BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — A Hungarian airliner en route from Budapest to Amsterdam has returned to its home airport and landed safely after smoke was detected in the cabin.

Company officials say the Malev flight, with 102 passengers on board, landed at Ferihegy airport 15 minutes after takeoff.

Airline spokesman Adam Hegedues says residue from cleaning solvents in one of the Boeing 737’s engines caused the smoke.

All passengers were flown to Amsterdam on other flights later Sunday.
