You're reading: New York airport terminal evacuated after anonymous call

NEW YORK, July 4 (Reuters) - Terminal 1 at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City was evacuated on Sunday due to a bomb scare, CNN reported, but it was probably a false alarm triggered by an anonymous call to the airport.

The female caller warned of a bomb set to explode in the terminal, and at the same time airport personnel noted a suspicious bag or package in that terminal, CNN said.

A CNN reporter on the scene, citing airport officials, said the incident was probably a false alarm and an "all clear" was likely to be issued.
