MEXICO CITY, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Tropical storm Frank strengthened off Mexico's Pacific Coast on Tuesday and was expected to grow more fierce later in the week, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
Frank was expected to move along Mexico’s Pacific coast, which is lined with resorts popular with foreign tourists.
"Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours," the Miami-based hurricane center said.
Frank was moving west-northwest at 7 mph (11 kph) with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph). Mexico’s oil industry, which has the bulk of its operations in the Gulf of Mexico, was unaffected by the storm.
