A 16-seater plane crashed in western Democratic Republic of Congo, killing a number of people onboard and on the ground, the United Nations said on Wednesday.
"The plane crashed on a house, killing some people. We don’t have figures yet," Madnodje Mounoubai, a spokesman for the U.N. mission in Congo, said of the crash, adding it happened just short of the airstrip in the western town of Bandundu. The central African country has among the world’s worst air safety records.
