DUBAI, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda in North Africa has freed two Spanish hostages as part of a deal involving the release of a militant, Al Arabiya television said on Sunday.

The release was linked to Mauritania’s extradition to Mali of a militant who had been convicted of the kidnapping of three Spanish aid workers, including the two hostages, the television said, without giving details of the release.
